Mohammad Mokhtari, HBSc, DDS, FRCD (C)
Dr. Mokhtari is a graduate of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery program at the prestigious Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Prior to completing his surgical residency, he earned an Honours degree in Biology from York University, followed by a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Toronto, and completed a one-year internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Mokhtari has had extensive training in outpatient anesthesia, implantology, bone grafting, head and neck pathology and trauma surgery. He has developed a particular interest in surgical correction of facial deformities, treatment of obstructive sleep apnea, and implant surgery. He is the recipient of numerous awards and ranked among the top 1% of all American oral and maxillofacial surgery residents for two consecutive years on their annual examinations.
Committed to excellence in patient care, Dr. Mokhtari strives to provide safe, compassionate treatment using the latest advancements in surgery, anesthesia, and pain management. He is certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). He is a member of the Ontario Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and holds a specialty fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. He currently serves as Chief of the Division of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie.
Dr. Mokhtari was raised in Toronto and now resides in Barrie with his wife, Amanda, and their two children. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, playing tennis, and watching the Toronto Raptors.
