 Millions of people struggle with sinus problems. They look all around for some type of relief from the congestion, runny noses, sinus infections and other issues surrounding this part of their body. They search high and low for a solution to the problem, but often ignore one of the reasons behind their problems. A sinus infection can lead to a dry mouth. Saliva can help wash away the bacteria that grows in the mouth. If the bacteria continue to grow, they can lead to different problems including tooth decay, cavities, gum disease and infections. The dry mouth caused by the sinus infection can inhibit the production of saliva needed for good oral health. It is important to understand how different parts of the body affect each other. The best thing a person can do if they do not want their oral health to impact their sinuses or if they do not want their sinus problems to impact their oral health is to make sure they follow good oral and general hygiene practices every day.
