We can evaluate the situation and determine the proper course of action to help save the integrity of your tooth and oral health.

Your natural teeth are always going to be the best teeth for your mouth, even with all of the advances made with implants and dentures. This is why good oral hygiene and dental practices are so important.

However, we know that life is not perfect and sometimes, we overlook certain aspects of our life, including dental care. This causes cavities and damage to the teeth and sometimes, this means getting a root canal to save a tooth or two.

Saving Your Tooth with a Root Canal

When you want to save a tooth that has become weakened or damaged via cavities, then you are going to want to look into getting a root canal. When a cavity has gotten too far down in the tooth it can cause problems in the root area.

This is when we can come in and perform a root canal. We remove the damage and infection areas inside the tooth, clean it out, effectively eliminating the problem. Once this is done, the tooth can then be filled in, capped and it will look and work like a regular tooth again.

A root canal takes a little more time to complete than a traditional filling, but the end result is a healthier tooth, that is stronger and more usable than prior to the procedure.

Advances in equipment and techniques have made getting a root canal far less painful that it was years ago, and a root canal is far more budget friendly than an extraction and artificial tooth implant or bridge.

If you would like to learn more about how root canals have changed or think that you might need one, contact our office today and speak with one of our oral surgeons.
